Toronto is quickly becoming a mecca of dance music in North America, be it underground or otherwise the city is flourishing with upcoming artists and labels, so when news breaks of Downpour Recordings launching their new label with artists like City Kid Soul, Cosella, and Guyus Grey, EARMILK pays attention.
For their first release, Downpour has enlisted the duo of Devin Rattie & Emma Pace, better known as City Kid Soul, and to kick things off they give us "The Queen" EP comprised of two originals and a dub mix of the title track. Self proclaimed "Intergalactic bounty hunters and booty shakers", this male/female tandem have laid out some powerful basslines and memorable vocals from Haviah Mighty to create that deep tech bounce that is so sought after these days.
Not stopping there, the crew is looking to kickstart a campaign to shoot their first music video! Check out the indiegogo page here for more info on how you can get involved! Have a listen the EP below and make sure to grab it when it comes out in August, and stay tuned for their label launch party August 8th at The Richmond gallery.
