Details revealed behind 2017 Record Store Crawls

As vinyl sales continue to rise from the $3 million, gaining 2% growth in sales in 2016, consumers' demand for physical music has officially surpassed the purchasing of digital music downloads. Simultaneously, we've seen the growth of the annual Record Store Day expand beyond a theoretical celebration of vinyl into a real experience.

Record Store Day this year is set worldwide as April 22nd, 2017, and labels and stores are already planning events to go throughout the day. The biggest event has been announced today as well, with the second annual Record Store Crawls announcement. Kicking off in New York City on April 22nd, attendees can enjoy a range of activities in a bus traveling around their city to various record stores. In New York, you'll visit places like Rough Trade, and in LA, hitting up stores like Amoeba Music. With a ticket ($34.95-59.95), you'll get a seat on the bus, food and drinks, discounts at the stores you're heading to, special performances along the way and of course, special swag. Labels who have confirmed artists performing so far include Nettwerk Records, Third Man Records, and Warner Music so far.
