Never short of quality music events, Tokyo will draw music lovers from everywhere to its annual music festival, Summer Sonic and Sonic Mania, happening August 15-16. The festival is unique in gathering musicians from Europe, Asia and the US – last year's lineup alone featured Ellie Goulding, Avenged Sevenfold, Charlie XCX, Little Dragon, Mogwai, The 1975 and Queen, to name a few.
As if Japan wasn't already a music destination within Asia, this year promises to showcase what may be the widest range of musical talent a festival has ever seen with Ariana Grande, Pharrell, Macklemore, D'Angelo, Imagine Dragons, The Chemical Brothers, Passion Pit and many more artists performing at Summer Sonic 2015. Sonic Manic, Summer Sonic's edgy sister festival, will host Marilyn Manson, Krewella, Porter Robinson, Boys Noize, among others, during the same weekend. It's only March so we can hardly imagine who else the crew behind this mega fest have in store for us. But if you'll be passing through Asia around that time, you might want to stop on by.
