[Q&A] BYOR asks if we'd like to dance on anthemic "Say Yes"

Rising producerBYOR who took over dancefloors with hit “Belly Dancer,” in February has returned with yet another anthem “Say Yes,” to get us grooving along.

With funky melodies woven into a booming tech house beat, the track opens with a sultry question on whether you’d like to dance along with his energetic sets, with hopes of a resounding “yes.”

Speaking to Earmilk, BYOR delves into the inspiration behind the track, the breakthrough success of “Belly Dancer,” how it’s impacted him, a message for listeners and more.

What’s the inspiration/message behind “Say Yes”?

The story behind the single and its title is that every DJ dreams of the same thing – a huge dancefloor filled with a responsive crowd. But even the most confident DJs, since they are all human beings, have complexes, echoes of doubts, and uncertainty. In my head, every set begins with a silent question that I’d like to ask the crowd  – if I ask you to dance, would you say “Yes“?

If you had to trace your sonic evolution in three words what would they be and why?

VENI VIDI VICI (I came, I saw, I conquered). Cause I love to kick in the doors :)

What was your first reaction to the massive success of “Belly Dancer” earlier this year?

Honestly I still can't believe that this has all happened to me. I worked so hard to create some big things… so feels good for sure, but not surprised me, because i believed in this track from the first bounce.

Has the success put any extra pressure on you? How has it positively impacted your approach to music making?

For sure no! On the contrary, it helps me to find new opportunities. It gives me even more fire to keep working and achieve huge success.

Who inspires you professionally but also on a personal level?

Family. I would really like them to be proud of me. They have always supported me in difficult times and believed in my ideas in any effort.

If listeners could take away one message from listening to your music what would you want that to be and why?

"Remember, there are no limits, BRING YOUR OWN RULES".
This is my motto for the approach to anything. No need to rely on someone else's opinion, be true to yourself.

What’s been the most surreal moment of your career so far? What’s next for you?

It was my debut at Tomorrowland 2022 and the first time I've ever been in this kind of unbelievable place. Next I'm going to play my set at every big festival in the world and spread my music even wider
