Multi-faceted rapper Navy Blue drops another timeless hip-hop gem with "Memoir In Armour."

From The introduction of “Take Heed,” to the closing track, you are met with such a unique style of gorgeous production. Truly abstract but true to original Hip Hop elements. Filled with so many different sounds and artistic colors, as if the mind is a canvas and the music is art being painted. His lyrics are thought-provoking and full of heart and soul with many different expressions seeking to keep the listener on their seat. He goes through different seasons of his life but also reflects on his personal relationship with God. At the end of the record, there's a snippet which is pretty interesting in itself.

“Boulder” takes off with a sample and then into some smooth syllable-switching rhymes letting the listeners know he’s a fierce lyricist as well as a very diverse soulful rhymer. Speaking about life and lessons while keeping interest high and the tempo of the rhyming fluent. Lines such as “Seeing being sober is a gift,” offer introspection and faith and true transparency of the heart; “That a life beyond the means of the darkness."

“Low Threshold” is a beautiful ballad with a LoFi feel, with a sample chop playing over and over, but caresses his powerful flow. Lyrics like “my sister found God, that was my poppa’s dying wish” allow you to see into a particular space in his life. It's a smooth record, full of wisdom for the soul.

The following track “Slow,” has a vocal sample and carries that underground Hip Hop sound. He blends his witty flow on this track well with the production. Cadence and delivery are top-tier, and the substance of his lyrics per usual shows you exactly where he is mentally. Just take it slow like he says.

“Basis” has a unique guitar playing throughout the production with staggered drums. An interesting sound and feel. It almost sounds offbeat, but the cadence draws you in to see that his flow is definitely spot on. The words being said are well suited with the flurry of rhyme patterns distributed on the record. The vocal sample that plays periodically throughout the production adds a nice soulful jazz flavor and plays perfectly to the concept of the record.

“Running Sand” has a unique reversal on the production, but meshes well with his flow. He finds the pocket and covers all grounds lyrically, giving you his perspective on life. With references to him dealing with anxiety and trying to stay afloat mentally. The rhyming chorus is broad and in your face. An interesting snippet plays at the end of the record giving further definition to the concept of the record.

From the vocal samples to the lyrics, to the mixing and mastering, to the entirety of the production, this comes off as a timeless piece of art. Beautifully pieced together and consciously molded to fit the group of musical geniuses. Navy Blue's rhyme patterns are top-notch but smooth. Far from overbearing where it becomes challenging to follow the feel of the music.

His delivery is clear and sharp, which adds an extra level of depth to the creative and unique music. From track to track it’s an easy and captivating listen which draws you into what he is presenting. Most of the production carries a unique sound which makes most of the records stand out.

There's powerful lyricism with introspection as to his own personal growth and instances within his life. Every track has the feel of an astounding mural being displayed, visual, and captivating. You can hear his comfort with the delivery of the lyrics. As if he is directly in his element of being a musical genius. Fresh sounds, fresh vibes, and heartfelt lyrics. With certain references to faith, you can possibly discover that he holds some belief in a higher power. Another classic.
