FROM THE VERY FIRST TRACK HE CARRIED THE ENERGY. AN ODE TO EMINEM'S FREESTYLE ON 8 MILE, IT DEMONSTRATES CREATIVITY TO THE FULLEST!!!

From the very first record, Ab-Soul sets the temp off right, in an amazing way. The first 5 records on Soul Burger progress beautifully with a couple of records more on the higher-level energy level with “Paiday & All That.” Those two records will definitely allow you to feel what he’s saying and what he wants to display. The lyricism doesn't fall off on any other records, Soul is definitely respected as an elite lyricist and he displays why on the album. From track to track, he delivers a prestigious level of lyricism and creativity. The music comes off as highly original without being able to hear any remnants of any other artist putting out music, which is always a good sign of something timeless, which defines authenticity and originality. The production is fresh and unique and complements his style of artistry perfectly. On a few records, he also pays homage to certain artists, showing a level of respect for music in general. The samples which were used on certain records were a perfect blend of music. Executed well, and gives you the feel that the space he was in when creating the music had to be something special. All in all, the music was superb and the mixes and masters were equally a work of all giving the music an extra level of personality.

PERSONAL FAVORITES

9 Mile– Being the very first track on Soul Burger you listen expecting something immaculate and you receive just that. He comes in with an onslaught of lyrical flips showing just how diverse he is lyrically. Dissecting the beat as if the lyrics are a katana perfectly wielded in the hands of an expert samurai. The display of lyricism is extremely impressive in every facet. The creativity of the lines, the delivery of the lines, and the cadence are superbly delt. The production is equally as fascinating encompassing his lyrical style well, meshing and blending into a completely full harmony of music. The breakdown towards the end of the record where he takes it up a notch shows the creativity of the record where he pays respects to Em’s 8-Mile verse from the movie. He flips it well, but he doesn't slouch on the delivery of it. An excellent record.

I, Myself & Me– A record with an extremely real and introspective approach. Soulful sonically and carries the sense of true art. A beautiful record with the Vocals from Doechii serenading the record adding an astounding feeling to the record. The second half of the record carries the track into another realm, sort of sounding as if he’s in a dream rapping his lyrics. A sort of transient feel but is well-executed, and he delivers lyrically. The lyrics are a little more direct but still display his penmanship excellently.

Peace– Probably sonically my favorite record off of Soul Burger. The electric guitar through the record adds an extreme depth sonically that draws you in as the listener. His flow comes in showing you that the approach to the record will absolutely be fulfilling to the listener. An introspective record stating he wants peace with a lot of real lyrics which he is known for. The lyricism is superbly presented on a track of this flavor. A Beautiful record with a lot of soul and presence. “I just want peace” really allows us to see into the inner parts of his heart. The second portion of the record after the beat switch he continues to deliver. The production is timeless and smooth. ELITE RHYMING AB! “God gave his only begotten so we can make it”.

Sky is Limitless– A song full of motivation which sounds like it also takes inspiration from the late Notorious B.I. G’s song "Sky’s the Limit." The production for this record really fits the direction taken on the record. It carries the weight of an actual single, not necessarily a remake but definitely pays homage to BIG. Lyrically Ab-soul extends his arm painting a picture of excellence. This record has an amazing feel and definitely sounds like summertime music possibly. Being the best version of ourselves will always be a flex.

Honorable mention as a personal favorite is SAUDI SWEETS!

To sum up the album the records are diverse and well placed. The music came out beautiful and he really paints a vivid picture of the direction he wanted to take artistically. Another super solid project from an elite artist. The production is flawless, the rhyming is top notch, and the mix and master also add amazing layers sonically. GREAT WORK!
