It's always refreshing when a new producer graces my inbox with a remix that just connects with you. That's what happened when London based beat wizard YUAHREL found his way into my 'in' tray, with his remix of Tinashe's beautiful "Days In The West". Whilst the original Drake track banged, and Tinashe's cover had more emotion put into it, this YUAHREL remix gives the track a completely new angle.
Whilst keeping the original vocals in tact, YUAHREL adds a more sinister touch to the track, with some deep basslines overlayed with snappy snare drums and hard hitting kicks, that carry the track along nicely. The first half of the remix is more upbeat, almost sounding like a DJ Mustard beat, with bouncy kicks and snaps making it sound more like a club jam, but after a a vocal-only bridge, the track turns darker, giving a perfect contrast which fits the tracks words perfectly.
