Portland's Battleme is the latest project from former Lions frontman Matt Drenik. Having toured and recorded with the Lions for a number of years, Drenik was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease that effected his eyes. Soon after the diagnosis, Drenik moved from Austin to Oregon for the sake of this solo passion-project, locking himself into his self-made basement studio (metaphorically) to write and hone-in on what is a unique and eclectic sound. Let's call it electro-folky-funk-rock.
Battle recently released video for their single "Touch," a cut off of the debut album set for release from Austin's Trashy Moped recordings on April 24th. You can end the video below, along with an unreleased song called "Time" that was featured on the FX series "Sons of Anarchy".
