Damu's 2011 album, Unity, was more than enough to make a girl like me fall in love, a clean, innovative dose of future bass. Now, teaming up with singer Jade Pybus, the talented producer has given his touch to a track silky and sparkling enough to make anyone who says electronic music can't be laden with emotion re-question. In many cases, when a vocal is put over a producer I like, my first response is "the song's good but I hate the vocal," but this one's a great match — the vocal and instrumental are pure symbiosis. Py's mixtape Tripping on Wisdom will be out May 21 and will feature other solid producers backing her soulful lyricism, including Lapalux, iO, and Breton.
