Welcome to THE CLUB. A weekly dose of your favourite house, progressive house, electro house, and everything-in-between.. Each week I'll bring you a selection of my favourites of the week from the best producers in the world. I'll try to feature an emerging artist or two that catches my eye more than most, so make sure to keep your eye out for weekly servings of the biggest and best names in house music worldwide.
The Swedish House Mafia rules again. The masterminds behind one of the biggest DJ brands in the world, Angello, Axwell, and Ingrosso, have just released "Greyhound"; quite possibly the track of the year. After debuting on BBC Radio 1 almost a month ago, the song has become the most anticipated release since "Save The World" dominated sets at every major festival. This time they drop the vocals and focus on heavy hitting drops and absolutely beautiful builds, making it the perfect festival banger for 2012. Festival anthems are getting heavier, and whats not to love about that? If you're going to Miami next week there's not a doubt in my mind that you will hear this a few times.
Michael Woods has been consistently pumping out quality releases since we began The Club, and his presence is felt heavily today. His re-edit for the always impressive Starkillers & Dmitry KO takes what was already a club bomb and turns it into one of the biggest tracks of the week, and while we've probably heard enough of Adam F's "When The Rain Is Gone" by now, its hard to ignore this electro-house banger remix from the Brit.
Arty is back already and this time he teams up with two of my favourite rising progressive house producers, Matisse & Sadko. They collaborate for "Trio", and if that wasn't enough for the brothers Matisse & Sadko, they went and dropped one of my favourite remixes right now with the lovely vocals of "Beating Of My Heart" from M-3ox feat Heidrun. Mattise & Sadko show no signs of slowing down, so look forward to seeing their names up alongside the likes of Arty more often.
Tiesto continues to go big with another electro house banger in "Chasing Summers". This WMC exclusive release displays why he has been continuously selling out arenas and festivals all over the world. He incorporates a lot of what made him one of the most recognizable DJs in the world, as he brings in some progressive melodies that remind us of the old Tiesto, before he refreshes our memory and drops into a floor scorcher with a hard hitting bass line. It seems Tiesto has been busy lately as we've also got something a little more like what we've been seeing lately. His remix for Autoerotique maintains that electro grunge that makes the song so unique and gives it his own club twist with some heavy kicks and deep, pumping bass.
To cap things off, here's the offical release for Nicky Romero's latest track "Se7en" that I featured the compilation edit of a few weeks ago. As we already know, it's amazing. And Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso decided to refresh the club phenomenon that was "Calling" with some terrific vocals from Ryan Tedder. Oh, and Afrojack released a new song. Enjoy!
