UKofA explores time, memory, and modern chaos on new album "TIME WILL TAKE THIS ALL AWAY FROM US"

UKofA's approach to sound on "TIME WILL TAKE THIS ALL AWAY FROM US" is a slow-burning dialogue with memory, aspiration, and frustrations between our human fragility. UKofA generates a cinematic joy that somehow maintains its closeness. This album was largely recorded and mixed at a home studio, tagging live drums in a rehearsal space.

It was mastered by Big Sea Productions to create a widescreen, enveloping experience. The opening track, "Nice Things," is more of a textural sample, with quiet nods to early 90s West Coast hip-hop. "Put Your Faith In Me" is the final song written for the album and a meditation on both the cycles of success and its allure. On the other hand, "COMMIT" is all about reinvention and transformation, an artist identity refining even beyond this release.

But amongst those are some of the best moments, like "The Joke Is The Same," a reflective song about love, grief, and the intense emotions of living in this digital life. "Watchtower" is sprinkled with chilling piano arrangements, penned in the depths of lockdown. This song revolves around the feelings and repercussions of power and success. "Like We Were Never Here" is very much part of this emotional fracture in time and the struggle of man's place against an uncaring universe.

Other highlights, such as "Change My Mind," hit contemporary political discourse's frustration with laser precision, while "Gate Of Flesh" melds so many ideas into one aural statement. "TIME WILL TAKE THIS ALL AWAY FROM US" is a record that sounds contemplative, grand, and brimming with emotion. A project that demands a few listens and crystallizes the unyielding quality of UKofA as an artist, someone not afraid to challenge sound and viewpoint.
