Sir Taegan Harris is back in the studio making yearning music again as Love Spells. The moniker granted to him by his peers for wearing his heart on his sleeve, as Love Spells, he paints musically with the style of a Renaissance man. Love Spells' new single, "Crutch," brings a sense of wanderlust in time for the season of renewal.

The Houston-born singer-songwriter's new single manages to capture the essence of the heartbroken man in search of meaning. His 2025 EP, The Love I Showed You Was Yours to Keep, really told the story of Love Spells' creative oasis. Known for his hazy vocals and dream pop sound, Love Spells continues the next phase of his career. With a touch of grace and a knack for finding the humane within the void, his skills came into play heavily in 2025. Love Spells linked up with Kevin Abstract (BROCKHAMPTON) and Houston-based artists for Abstract's BLUSH LP.

The collaborative project allowed for the rest of the world to catch up to what Love Spells has been doing since 2021. For "Crutch," Love Spells continues his unique brand of yearning and learning to balance the scales of love and heartbreak. With the new single, Love Spells make a point of understanding the pros and cons of love.

“‘Crutch’ is about knowing something is bad for you, but continuing with it anyway,” he shares. “The push and pull of someone who loves you but can't admit it – they stick around for that feeling of love without ever having to be responsible for yours. They use you as a crutch, and honestly, you use them as one too.”

The single doesn't change nothing terms of where Love Spells has been or is headed. The 18-year-old is on a fast-traveling path to superstar status in the music industry. His lyrics are precise and calculated, with no room for error. He captures a sense of feeling between longing and a period where the sun dies out to welcome the oncoming night.

The new single comes with a cinematic music video by Alex Lockett that shows the carefree and love-weary illusion of Love Spells. 2026 is set to reintroduce Love Spells to a new audience of love-hungry fans looking to connect as he is scheduled to make appearances at Lollapalooza, All Points East, and more.
