GMO SONIC returns to Makuhari Messe on January 17 and 18, and the 2026 edition marks an important moment for one of electronic music’s most influential acts. MEDUZA³ will make their live debut at the festival, bringing a new chapter of the Italian trio’s sound to one of Japan’s largest electronic music stages.
Their appearance places them alongside Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto (special guest), and Dom Dolla, anchoring a day that leans heavily into contemporary house and melodic electronic music. Across both days, GMO SONIC continues to showcase a wide spectrum of sounds. Day one brings together Marshmello, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders, and GloRilla, offering a mix of crossover energy, global pop influence, and Japanese performance culture. Day two takes a more groove-focused direction, with MEDUZA³’s debut adding depth and contrast to the festival’s closing stretch.
The indoor setting at Makuhari Messe plays a central role in the experience. Designed around large-scale LED production and detailed sound systems, the venue allows artists to build fully realized visual and sonic worlds. For MEDUZA³, whose music thrives on tension and atmosphere, the space offers the perfect setting for a first live outing. Now entering its fourth edition, GMO SONIC, co-produced by GMO Internet Group and Creativeman Productions, has continued to grow its global profile since launching in 2020.
Previous editions have featured artists such as Skrillex, Martin Garrix, and Zedd, helping establish the festival as a key meeting point between international electronic music and Japan’s evolving scene. With MEDUZA³’s live debut at its center, the 2026 edition signals a clear step forward in both scale and artistic direction.
