St. Panther released their anticipated EP Strange World after teasing the eponymous track in September.
Multi-instrumentalist and genius behind St. Panther, Dani Bojorges-Giraldo (they/them) has successfully blended genres and created a refreshing 6-song EP that invites listeners in while addressing real-world issues.
As one of Forbes’ “30 under 30” (2023), St. Panther is no stranger to the spotlight, having their talent and impact recognized.
"The EP opens with gorgeous, jazzy piano chords that highlight St. Panther’s distinctive tone. 'Brand New' is an inviting introduction, making the listener feel weightless while exploring themes of recognition, respect, and reciprocation.

A drippy, groovy bassline, mellow vocal runs, and thoughtful lyricism make “American Dreams” a poignant track on this EP. St. Panther addresses the epidemic of doom-scrolling, inaction, and drawing attention to how the public just “scrolls through” with tact and sincerity. Slick yet meaningful bars give way to acoustic guitar arpeggios, lush harmonies, and stripped-back percussion.

The titular track “Strange World” can be described as a seamless blend of soul, R&B, and jazz. Featuring vocalist Rae Khalil, this track is a funky, soulful, work of art.
The track opens with subdivided toms that cascade into a shuffling percussion rhythm. The instrumentals take a step back, setting the stage for St Panther, who opens the first verse with social commentary. Rae Khalil enters with smooth and clear vocals, showing off their talents with effortless vocal runs. The thoughtful piano solo in “Strange World Outro” serves as a transition to the jazz-inspired track that follows.
“The Deal” is characterized by lilting vocals that hover above grounding bass, vibey electric guitar, and dreamy keys. Supported by a jazz-inspired percussion rhythm, this track has a smooth R&B feel with stacked vocal harmonies and luscious melodic lines. The inviting instrumentals are balanced by thought-provoking lyrics that blend to make a well-produced track.

Opening with mellow piano chords and a bossa nova feel, “Whoever Said Silence is Peace” is a stunning way to bring this EP to a close.
