Jutes' new single “Parasite” embodies a night of delicious debauchery [Video]

Jutes is building anticipation for his third studio album, Dilworth dropping December 3rd. After releasing “Fly on the Wall” a Deftones-inspired alt-rock track “Kill or Be Killed,” and a Nu-Metal anthem, he has now released “Parasite.”

Characterized by moody blue-green hues, intimate close-ups, and dark imagery, “Parasite” is a powerfully evocative video.

"Dirty mouth got a sweet tooth / Always had such good taste / Say you love it when I keep you / In your place"

Dark, yet enticing, cinematography plays out on screen as we watch Jutes walk through graffiti-ridden streets and tunnels, cast in shadows. Tones reminiscent of siren wails are heard through pitch-bending synth and haunting delays that set the mood as the track begins. With lyrics that delve the listener into a night of delicious debauchery, Jutes opens with enticing tenor vocals.

Accompanied by heavy instrumentals and perfectly timed silence, the beat drops, and a wave of heavy metal riffs washes over the track. Jutes’ vocals soar as he hits an effortless interval, belting through the crest of the pre-chorus. It's futile to resist head-banging along as the heavily distorted bass and drum-forward break down drags the listener in.

"Come fuck me up / Don't be shy / Take a bite / Eat me alive "

As the camera focus fades in and out, the listener’s focus is shaken, alternating between close-ups of the instrumentalists and intimate shots of Jutes’ unfaltering eye contact as he whispers into the mic, “Come fuck me up.” Smoke fades the shot into darkness as we follow Jutes through a dilapidated tunnel, shots of cockroaches flicker past, adding to the visceral feel of the video.

"Saw a tear roll down your thigh / I was lookin' up in your eyes / Pretty view my paradise / I could die"

As Jutes tips his back and screams directly into the camera, black ectoplasm spews from his mouth. Steeped in double-kick bass, gritty guitar riffs, and a sick half-time feel, the breakdown in this track is one that could single-handedly revitalize the Nu-Metal scene. Strobe effects draw the viewer in like a moth to a flame as Jutes stands, arms wide, and the camera flickers between shots of him screaming into the night beyond.

The video comes to a palette cleansing conclusion as Jutes sit in a darkened stairwell underneath a lone exit sign. The listener comes down from the high to be greeted by cockroaches crawling towards an orange light, as an emergency broadcast can be heard in the background, slowly fading into Jutes’ gaze to close the video.
