One of our favourite live music venues in London, The Victoria – Dalston – was buzzing with the anticipation of a hard earned weekend, when one of Europe's most hyped live bands came to East London – SHARKTANK.
As part of a European tour, this was the first time the band had made the pilgrimage to Blighty. Just another symptom of the Brexit decision affecting our ability to see Europe's rising talent but, that's a conversation for another day. The exciting outfit from Austria, made full use of their slot, performing for what must have been over an hour on a hot, sweaty stage. If you've ever seen SHARKTANK perform, you will understand that's no mean feat.. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist KÄSSYand Mile Lechner, the juxtaposition of their performances was a raw and un-tethered chemistry.
One of Europe's most exciting new bands, with sold-out tours in Germany and Austria, festival appearances across Europe – including Eurosonic, Great Escape, Haldern Pop, Dockville, and Europavox in France. The UK was a new territory for the rising stars in their scene. KASSY's vocal performance and songwriting guile is evident through their performances, as a songwriter she carries sheer rockstar presence.
Live music is in a difficult state in the UK and particularly London, venues like The Victoria – face a daily struggle with rent prices and costs, as well as a constant appetite for property development and noise complaints. It's important these instituions exist in the capital, to experience new and exciting prospects such as SHARKTANK live.
