Kaleidoscope Orchestra releases emotion and elevation in new single "By the Clouds"

"Through the Clouds," by Kaleidoscope Orchestra's new single, is like a gust of fresh air at 30,000 feet, a surging melding of cinematic beauty and electronic pulse with human emotion. Founded and directed by visionary producer and all-around lovely man Steve Pycroft, with the assistance of co-founder Wholesomelike REC, the UK collective has become renowned worldwide for reimagining contemporary bangers as symphonic masterpieces. But here they move thoroughly into the light of their own, making something deeply personal but universally transcendent.

Born aloft in 2019 on a flight from Aberdeen to London, the song started as Pycroft's attempt to document that very moment of suspension, when space and time blur, the world below fades away, and wonder takes over. Thoughts that manifest in a sound that's light yet grounded, like so many sticks of incense.

All that changed, however, when longtime collaborator Alex Dee wrote lyrics and added his own lead vocals. Fresh from fatherhood, Dee drew on the awe of seeing his son open his eyes for the first time, that quiet but seismic instant when life expands. "Through the Clouds" is a trip through emotion, creation, and connection. Touching on Kaleidoscope Orchestra's upcoming debut album, "Moments Between", this single is a reminder that even through turbulence, beauty appears, and sometimes you can only see the clearest picture by being over the clouds.
