Parallelle and Sacks Release Genre-Blending Single "Searching for the Groove"

French duo Parallelle has released "Searching for the Groove," the latest single from their upcoming LP 11th Avenue, out October 29th via their Lisbon-based label FOLDER. The track, featuring collaborator Sacks, arrives with an accompanying music video that captures the duo's playful approach to genre-weaving.

"Searching for the Groove" builds on syncopated percussion that nods to 2-step, with falsetto vocals and live touches of warm keys and saxophone. The production flows with an easy rhythm, inviting listeners to find their own movement within its structure.

"This track is about the endless search for the groove of life. And what is that groove? It's yours to define," shares Parallelle. "For some, it's love. For others, success. Maybe joy, maybe freedom. Whatever it is, it's the rhythm that keeps you moving forward."

The collaboration with Sacks (Benji) emerged organically when he was renting Parallelle's Amsterdam studio, eventually developing into a close friendship. "This track started as a studio jam and has quickly become one of our favorites from the album. It has a feel-good, late summer energy," the duo notes.

11th Avenue highlights Parallelle's continued commitment to exploring new ideas through an analogue production approach that bridges genres, experiences, and communities. The album emphasizes the imperfect beauty of analogue sound, combining live instrumentation, groovy beats, and jazzy saxophone and trumpet interplay with vocals from Thomas (Parallelle) and collaborators.

Beyond the music, Parallelle has crafted a holistic vision for the project. The album's visual identity was shaped by fashion creative director Sarah Bassett and captured by photographer Dani Bastidas, creating an aesthetic that mirrors the analogue-first ethos of the record. The duo plans to bring '11th Avenue' to life globally with a curated album tour blending intimate listening sessions with hybrid DJ sets and immersive storytelling.

Further blurring lines between sound and style, Parallelle has partnered with high-end streetwear brand Ciaran for a capsule collection of limited-edition 11th Avenue merchandise launching this October during ADE.

Based in Lisbon, Parallelle creates a distinctive style blending house, techno, and world music. Their sound philosophy incorporates live instrumentation and field recordings from their global travels, reflecting their appreciation for diverse cultures. The duo's name references a music theory concept where two different scales start from the same note and develop differently while dialoguing with each other.

11th Avenue arrives October 29th via FOLDER, with vinyl release following later in the month. "Searching for the Groove" is available now across all platforms.
