Singer/songwriter, poet and playwright Holly Hollows has collaborated with country singer/songwriter Casual Drifter for an upbeat country pop duet. Called "Meteorite", the song came about in an unusual circumstance, it was written and recorded the same day as the former couple broke up.
With "Meteorite", Holly Hollows woke up to a poem and a melody that lingered. Finding a creative connection with her former lover, the duo collaborated on this authentic gem. The song details two separate people and the life they wish they led. "Meteorite" also narrates how time is fleeting and how important it is to follow your dreams as life moves fast. Lyrics including, "Time is fading / Sky's on fire / We gotta a right to burn bright," show this narrative. Musically, "Meteorite" is a catchy country pop anthem filled with twangy guitar riffs and upbeat rhythms. The duo take their turn each with their own verses but the true magic is when they sing together. Their voices blend effortlessly in the chorus, creating a warm, heartfelt resonance that feels both intimate and celebratory.
"Meteorite" is off of Holly Hollows' upcoming theatrical cosmic country album in collaboration with DNNNY. In addition, Holly Hollows has a new musical entitled OUTRO, which is deemed "psychedelic unraveling of mind and marriage, set entirely in a recording studio in Nashville". Take a listen to "Meteorite" now and enjoy the ride!
