One of the most recognisable names in social media, today shows that his talent and depth goes far beyond content on TikTok.. Michael Aldag’s new EP, Crying in the Club, is a poignant journey through heartbreak, wrapped in shimmering 80s-inspired synth-pop. Co-written and produced with Robin Stjernberg, the collection draws from a recent breakup, imbuing each track with raw, immediate emotion.

“’Crying in the Club’ is an EP that will likely change the course of music history forever. I am excited to see the seismic reaction to yet another 5 track project about someone’s ex-girlfriend. People have called it ‘visionary’, others have called it ‘profound and brave’, i just call it ‘mine’.”– Michael Aldag

The lead single, “3minutes,” perfectly encapsulates the EP’s sound. It opens with delicate synth notes and a subtle bassline, allowing Aldag’s captivating vocals and introspective lyrics to take center stage. Lines like “I know that you’re over me / But one chance is all I need” convey a deep sense of longing and regret. The chorus explodes with layered vocals and atmospheric synths, creating an undeniable retro feel that transports listeners straight to the dance floor. Aldag’s explanation that the song is a direct reference to a missed encounter with an ex-girlfriend adds a layer of personal authenticity.

Beyond the lead single, tracks like “Happy” and “Saturday” continue to explore themes of heartbreak and self-reflection, making “Crying in the Club” a cohesive and emotionally resonant project. Aldag’s unique blend of infectious melodies, honest lyrics, and self-deprecating humor shines through, solidifying his place as a distinctive voice in contemporary synth-pop.
