Need a soundtrack for your next era—the one where you’re the champion of your own life?

British-Ugandan artist MEGA, aka Megaishername, delivers just that with her uplifting new EP British-Ugandan artist MEGA, aka Megaishername, delivers just that with her uplifting new EP I Am Enough—a blend of pop, alt-R&B, and affirming lyricism that leaves you feeling good no matter what you’ve been through.

I Am Enough—a blend of pop, alt-R&B, and affirming lyricism that leaves you feeling good no matter what you’ve been through.

As the title suggests, this brave and awe-inspiring release is a true vision statement—one that reclaims MEGA’s emotional and cultural identity with effortless confidence and ease.

On the meaning behind the album’s title, MEGA explains: “The words ‘I am enough’ carry a lot of weight for me. It’s about self-realisation and self-worth; understanding that I am worthy of love. I knew quite early on that I AM ENOUGH would be the title for this EP. I wanted to be transparent about how it makes you feel to be constantly told that what you’re doing isn’t working, or that you should be emulating someone else in order to succeed.”

Opening track “CHANGE” acts as a positive wake-up call for anyone needing that final nudge to go after what they’ve been resisting. Its melodic simplicity is elevated by MEGA’s powerhouse vocal delivery, sending chills down your spine.

With acoustic guitar as the backbone, her voice cuts through with conviction, landing sharp lines like, “You just gotta wake up, give yourself a shake-up, all you gotta do is change.”

The title track follows, rhythmically pulling you in before you even realize where it’s headed. MEGA delivers it with unapologetic defiance, declaring, “I don’t need permission. I have sat and listened for far too long.” Her vocals soar so high they’ll knock you off your feet—so, for safety reasons, please sit down if you’re operating heavy machinery.

The track packs a bold attitude and makes it clear she’s done waiting on others; she’s got everything she needs to make her dreams real. Musically, it carries an old-school soulfulness reminiscent of Marvin Gaye, while fusing pop, alt-rock, and straight-up emotion.

“MY BONES” gets you swaying right away with a texturally rich beat that’s impossible to ignore. MEGA means business, delivering a catchy topline melody that locks this track in as the EP’s standout single. Lyrically, she’s reclaiming her power—this time without a shred of hesitation.

“ROOTS” follows with a slower pace, offering a welcome reprieve from the action-packed tracks before it. Reflective and tender, it still carries strength in its softness, anchored by the refrain: “nobody can take away what’s in my roots.”

The final track, “FAIL AS ME,” closes the EP with another powerful statement of owning her story and direction: “I knew my heart would guide me, guide me to somewhere new, wherever it takes me to.” Its repeating line, “I’d rather fail as me,” is delivered over a melody that’s both addictive and empowering, urging listeners to take risks even without knowing where the destination will lead.

I AM ENOUGH stands as a testament to a woman’s strength and courage, inspiring listeners to live their truth despite the obstacles that came before.

Across its five tracks, the EP offers an empowering sonic journey—filled with lyrics and melodies easy to hold onto, ready to pull from your back pocket whenever life’s confusing moments demand a pick-me-up.
