Hailing from Baltimore, P Dope has been carving out his own lane for raw, yet emotive, releases that blend influences from his hometown, as well as classic East Coast hip-hop and more. Following his EP from earlier this year, I Thought You Would Be Happy For Me, which featured appearances from Griselda's Conway the Machine and ElCamino, P Dope returns with a refreshing, engaging offering in "Dime Bags", which puts his personal yet gritty style further on display.
Produced by Black Majjic Productions, "Dime Bags" blends a warm, soul sample containing expansive backing vocals, with gritty drums and raw bass-lines for a poignant listen. The production's blend of smooth, breezy sounds with hard-hitting undertones and rhythms makes it cohesive with P Dope's delivery and lyricism. His performance feels both laid-back and hungry, precise and yet rugged- backed up by his imagery-rich lines.
