Berlin-based, London-born selector and producer Amy Dabbs makes a triumphant return to Aus Music with Rhythms, a three-track masterclass in emotional club music that glides between jungle, house and UKG with effortless grace. True to its name, this EP is equal parts groove, grit, and giddy euphoria.

AUSMUSIC · Amy Dabbs – Rhythms EP

Dabbs has carved out a lane all her own in recent years, with releases on Heist, HE.SHE.THEY., and her own Dabbs Traxx imprint, as well as a monthly Rinse FM slot and a residency at Berlin’s much-loved Renate. On Rhythms, she channels her signature feel-good, high-impact energy into three distinct but cohesive cuts, each drenched in nostalgic breaks, glowing synths and emotionally charged melodies.

Opening track "First Love" is an instant standout. A dusty Amen break acts as the heartbeat, but Dabbs doesn't let genre definitions pin her down. What starts as a jungle-leaning groove quickly mutates into a euphoric house roller, underpinned by glimmering Juno 106 chords and flecked with UKG swing. A soulful, aching vocal snip adds emotional gravity without ever losing momentum, making for a peak-time weapon with real tenderness.

Then comes "It's Not Me It's You", a landmark moment for both Dabbs and the label as Aus Music's first-ever 160 BPM cut. It’s jungle, but with a twist of Dabbs' self-coined “lovey-dovey jungle,” where featherlight pads meet razor-sharp drum edits. Dabbs reimagined the amen break with a fresh palette of drums, and the melodic backbone leans into deep house territory, bridging fast-paced intensity with dreamy melancholy.

Closing out the EP is "Up In My Frills", a joyous garage-house hybrid that bounces with a bubbly bass line and a prominent attitude. Playful but potent, it’s a track made for dance floor moments, with pitched-up vocals, wailing sirens, and that signature Dabbs warmth wrapping around every beat.

Rhythms feels like a statement release that reaffirms Amy Dabbs’ reputation as one of underground dance music’s most emotive and versatile producers. It’s also a celebration of genre experimentation and fluidity done right, with soul and sweat sewed into every second.
