Rising Brighton-based punk trio Kitchen Lover taps into a spiralling sense of chaos on “Oregano Ricardo,” taken from band’s upcoming debut album, The Circus Sideshow Dream.
Rooted in a vibrant, high-octane sound, the track blends tight yet fuzzy guitars with anthemic songwriting to encapsulating the energy of a live performance amidst a polished sensibility.
Speaking of the evocative offering, the band explains, “The fantasy daydream of a renowned tale, two men fighting over the same woman, except in this case the man Marcel is fighting against (and losing) is a beautifully pruned Oregano plant.”
A frenzied yet dreamy number laden with blues rock undertones, the track showcases the band’s evolving musicality as they continue to cement their place as an act to watch. Following a year of performances and acclaim at the heart of Brighton’s flourishing music scene, this latest offering sets us up the band for much bigger things to come.
