Christiana Igbokwe Follows her Grandmothers Footsteps in Powerful New Single 'Ku Saura'

Following her late grandmother's footsteps, Christiana Igbokwe’s latest single "Ku Saura" is a poignant homage to her heritage and a powerful call for unity in a fractured world. The track, which translates to "Listen to Me," blends African tradition with contemporary sounds, creating an anthemic piece that transcends generations. Inspired by her legendary grandmother, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, the "Lady of Songs," Christiana seamlessly merges the old with the new, introducing her grandmother’s classic "Ku Saura Re Ni" to a new audience with a fresh twist.

The track features a soulful mix of Afro-pop, dance, and alternative influences, anchored by the hauntingly beautiful Goje, a traditional northern African string instrument. Christiana describes the Goje as a "spiritual bridge" that connects the physical and spiritual worlds, a fitting metaphor for the song’s message. As she shares, “It is a time for people to set aside their differences, forgive one another, and unite as one under God.” This sentiment reflects the song’s central theme of healing and togetherness, which is especially poignant during the Holy Month.

The collaboration with Ali Jita adds another layer of depth to the track, further enriching the cultural and spiritual experience. "Ku Saura" is a rallying cry for peace, a plea for unity, and a testament to Christiana’s growing voice in both music and advocacy. With this release, she proves that while she honors her grandmother’s legacy, she is also carving her own path in the musical landscape, one that echoes with hope for a better, more united world.
