Kiki Rowe shares a new single "Boys Will Be Boys" ahead of summer project

Kiki Rowe’s new single, “Boys Will Be Boys,” is one such example is the kind of winner, turning heartbreak into art with a melody that will cling long after the last note. The track, a raw, introspective reflection on love, loss and taking accountability for your calling, serves as a preview of her highly anticipated new project, 'Pieces of Me', due out this summer.

From the first chord, “Boys Will Be Boys” feels like an open letter, one that sharpens the universal itch of heartache with piercing honesty. We recorded it in no time, making the work flow as if the song had demanded to be written. Calm and unassuming yet with all the grit of a vintage punk rock anthem, Rowe’s lightly aching vocals wax nostalgic and little more; her voice, both soft and unyielding, slides over the track, inviting an audience into a space where sentiment is breakable yet all-but-uncensored.

What distinguishes “Boys Will Be Boys” is its authenticity. It doesn’t only encompass the grief of heartbreak but specifically the awareness that sometimes we need to go back and be the villain in the stories we tell ourselves. The song is heartbreak, but works as a contemplative piece one that chooses to see beauty in the lessons love brings, when it isn’t simple.

As the artist continues to create her sound, her knack for writing deeply personal songs that still feel like they were written for you leaves a unique mark. “Boys Will Be Boys” isn’t merely another heartbreak anthem it’s a moment of vulnerability swathed in melody, showing that Rowe’s artistry is as much about the narrative as it is about the sound.

With Pieces of Me on the way, “Boys Will Be Boys” serves as an introduction to what lies ahead an emo-heavy body of work that will show the world how Rowe has matured as an artist. If this single is anything to go by, we’re in for a wild ride this summer.
