Brooklyn band Le Big Zero weave punk spirits and pop sensibilities together on new EP How To Use a Semicolon, presenting three tracks brimming with captivating electric touches.
Perfectly introducing their melodic yet bold musicality is the dramatic and cinematic stylings of lead track “How Very,” which blends sticky percussions, jagged guitar lines and emotive vocals for a layered listening experience.
The striking track is accompanied by wild yet thought-provoking visuals starring comedian and actor Billie Bullock as a struggling artist with a particular problem: Visions of a toy piano plague them, drawing them towards it portentously. The piano finally confronts them during the song's coda, revealing its teeth and consuming them.
After two albums and an EP, How To Use a Semicolon is a statement of purpose for Le Big Zero as they establish a distinct sonic identity where the timelessness of underground heavyweights of the past meet the refreshing essence of the future.
