Persian-Canadian artist Tara Jam traces an ethereal sonic journey on latest EP Odyssey, a genre-bending collection that encapsulates the yearning for emotional and physical closeness.
Led by her hypnotic vocals that float upon textured sonics rooted in shimmering UK garage beats, echoing synths and cinematic touches, the EP is both intimate and expansive as it evokes a dreamy yet grounding vibe.
From the psychedelic trap undertones of standout anthem “Closer,” to the ambient flourishes of “IN2U,” the EP which is produced by SPVDE with cinematic touches from Tomb, taps into a relatable pursuit of connection and the realisation of dreams. The hypnotic offerings are elevated with avant-garde visuals courtesy of Nathan Henry, with aesthetics that push the boundaries of music and fashion.
Speaking of the project, she says, “Recording over SPVDE’s transcendent production was a liberating process,” Tara shares. “Then Tomb came in with his cinematic flair, and ‘Closer’ took on a whole new dimension. It's personal and deeply layered, like a conversation between dream and reality.”
An evolving powerhouse who has consistently redefined the intersection between art and spirituality with her craft, Tara Jam is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and visual artist, whose enchanting yet honest musicality continues to uplift and spread light with each note.
