Paris-based artist SACHA has just released the first single from his upcoming debut EP, CHANGE OF HEART. The introspective and painfully honest single “Broken Love” gives audiences an idea of what to expect from the anticipated four-track EP, which is said to detail themes of family and identity. “Broken Love” takes you on an emotional voyage, with the artist originally stating that the song was about a former love interest, however, he quickly realized that he was embarking on his own journey of self-reflection and discovery.
The lyrics transition from the dynamics of a relationship and messages of empathy, understanding, and healing, to an internal dialogue, where he is offering solace to his own grief. As he sings, “I’m still here you see by your side, and I’ve cried your tears, you were dry, carrying the grief of your past, but all that you need to heal is right here in your heart,” SACHA comes to terms with his own unresolved pain and understands that the path to healing lies within himself.
Sonically “Broken Love” tugs at your heartstrings, with emotion-fuelled vocals that melt over warm, organic instrumentation. Simple guitars and echoing piano collide with angelic harmonies to deliver a truly celestial and all-encompassing soundscape.
