Eminem’s Shady Edition puts fuel into rhyming on another level

This one is for the hip-hop heads wanting an influx of rhyming.

To start with “Fuel (Shady Edition)” Westside Boogie comes in showing us exactly why Em co-signs his pen. The West Coast emcee displays exactly how sharp his lyricism and flow are impeccable, with some touches are some very real lines. Well, he always does, but he takes it up a notch to match the energy of the production. A brilliant entrance to the record, full of energy and lyrics that make you want to stand on a table and scream.

The chorus isn't complex or completely heart-felt but has the feel of passion. The chorus seems to carry the statement that the emcees aren't taking anything other than their name and respect with them. Direct, and short, but allows the listeners to catch the feel that is being presented. The production has hard drums and sharp snares, so the lyrics emphasize the style of the production. This track is reminiscent of some older Eminem and D12 records. This is a classic Eminem record, with good energy, sharp rhyming, and lyrical flexing.

At times we can take Em’s releases for granted since he’s been in the game for such a long period but one thing he continuously does is bless us with authenticity. His music is always original and he lyrically continues to execute at a level only certain Rhymers can do. This track is another exhibition of how he continues to push his penmanship at a pace and a limit that seems like it can't be matched.

The second verse is just as absolute and amazing as the first verse. Grip hailing from Atlanta brings that new school Atlanta witty flow and punches while dropping a heavy presence lyrically. Nearly tongue-twisting, but the delivery is excellent enough for you to comprehend word for word that he has a lot to say. His sword is sharp lyrically.

The anchor verse is Em’s with good right, his verse starts with him painting a picture of what he had to climb from to be the juggernaut rapper that he is. Goes right into letting us know that he still has the ability to go bar for bar with the younger guys. Witty lines, and tons of syllable switching and matching. He comes with that Slim Shady energy and delivery which elevates his verse. It's one thing to have dope lyrics but delivering the energy is another skill set as well. He absolutely did that.

All in all, a solid Shady Edition. If all Shady Editions go up like this, keep em’ coming.
