Mexican hip-hop is a whole different ball game and it's even revered in many spheres with pioneers like Control Machete and Cartel De Santa breaking new grounds and paving the way for younger rappers of Mexican descent. Aczino is one of many who have carved their niche as hardnosed freestyles for many years now and got major recognition when he defeated Argentine rapper Woos in the 2017 international version of Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos competition. With more than 30 championship titles to his name, Aczino continues to wow audiences and on his latest release "Turn It Up" he teams up with legendary rapper/producer Erick Sermon (of EPMD fame).
The track produced by West Coast producer Scoop DeVille has a Latin vibe with its anthemic horns, soaring pads and a head-nodding drum groove which is perfect for Aczino's commanding flow to set things right. Erick Sermon shines as well and delivers some humorous quips that he is known for. Overall, both emcees flex their verbal muscles and implore audiences to turn up the speakers and nod their heads.
"Turn It Up" is a part of the forthcoming, highly anticipated album S.A.D.M. (Salud, Amor, Dinero y Marihuana), due October 2, 2024, via Universal.
