We head deep into the borough of Edmonton in London, UK where time-tested Grime artist Doller was raised. As an offspring of roots reggae singer Kush Tafari and nephew of Jamaican rapper Flash, Doller was born into a musical family and absorbed the culture at a young age. At 16 years old, he burst through the scene as a Grime act and later incorporated elements of rap, dancehall and trap-soul into his repertoire and with close to two decades in the scene it is safe to say the man is a veteran.

His latest release venture is a 3 track EP entitled CALL ME, which sees him fusing garage, trap-dancehall and trap-soul on the EP respectively. The EP starts with the title track which features MC Neat and Zara for a smooth bouncy Garage tune that harks back to summer love. Zara leads the charge with her sultry melodies and heartfelt lovelorn lyrics followed by Doller's gruff and commanding flow. The pairing is quite seamless as Doller's edgy vocals complement Zara's soft tone and play off each other as they pour adulations on that special someone in their lives. The second track "CELLULAR(CALLE ME TRAP DANCEHALL)" is a thumping bass-heavy jam that is peppered with Doller's fusion of Dancehall and trap styles. His performance is effortless and the way he exudes that classic dancehall-toasting energy is undeniable but the icing on the cake is the chorus which raises the ante with boastful lines like "Call me on the cellular, I'm telling yuh, drawers drop when I speeching dem". The final track is a Trap-Soul remix of "CALL ME" and here he brings Aleisha Lee and Terry Trill to join him. Over the downtempo drums, and dreamy and ethereal soundscape, Doller and Terry reassure their respective partners that they will always be there for them as Aleisha's sublime vocals tie things up in the chorus.

Overall, the EP might be brief but it's concise and tailors to the majority of music lovers as it serves three different flavours of the same dish.
