Dublin-based artist and producer Evan Kennedy, follows up the success of his debut single “Francis,” with electronic indie pop anthem “Pearphone,” playing on the idea of childhood infatuation.
Rooted in contemporary pop elements blended with indie pop touches the track pushes the boundaries of his signature sound, combining perky melodies with nostalgic lyricism ruminating on adolescence.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, Kennedy says, “It plays on the feeling of being a kid and staying up all night texting till your phone dies, even though your family is giving out about you never looking up, but they wouldn't understand because you're infatuated with finally having a phone and your own friend group and love interests etc.”
A classically trained multi-instrumentalist who has spent his career crafting and moulding sounds for other artists, Kennedy who captivating and distinct musicality with his debut track hones in further on his sonic vision as he cements himself as a talent worth tuning into.
