Minneapolis-based trio Yam Haus is back with their highly anticipated EP, 'Stupid and Famous,' out now. Guided by renowned mixer/producer Tony Hoffer (known for his work with Beck and Phoenix), the band blends infectious indie-rock instrumentation with captivating vocals, showcasing their evolving musical maturity.
The EP's standout and lead single, "So Long," takes a deep dive into the band's evolution. It showcases a shift from their earlier pop-synth sound to a grittier, guitar-led approach. Frontman Lars Pruitt shares insights into the track, stating, "Lyrically, it finds me confronting some of my struggles within the band, within my worldview, and within myself."
Having opened for The Killers and Death Cab for Cutie, Yam Haus has already tasted success. Their U.S. and Canadian tour kicks off on October 6th, giving fans a chance to experience their new sound live. Despite their digital success with millions of streams and a strong physical presence with over 100 shows, Yam Haus feels they're just beginning. This EP marks a new chapter for the band, and fans can't wait to see where their musical journey takes them.
