Producer and singer-songwriter, TOMI, also known as Pam Autuori, has just dropped her latest single, “NUN”. Set to be in her upcoming album, Late Bloomer, this dreamy Indie ballad, is filled with ironic lyrics and passionate vocals. In the choruses, roaring guitars fill our headphones, intensifying TOMI's emotional depth and strength. The electric guitar chords, resonating with a nostalgic vibrato, transport listeners to the sounds of the 60s.

Accompanying the release is a music video directed by Julie Pacino, featuring single art that showcases TOMI dressed in a habit with a brilliant light shining between her legs. The one-shot music video brings this striking image to life, portraying a lesbian nun breaking free from the constraints and shame of Catholicism. With its thought-provoking and campy narrative, this video is a captivating experience not to be missed.

TOMI comments on the music video premise, “We wrote and shot the video in one night  – rehearsing the exact lighting, camera movements and choreography again and again until the story and song intertwined seamlessly.

The song weaves through the video effortlessly as the NUN, who is praying away the gay, ultimately breaks free from self fulfilled boundaries and becomes her full self. I wanted the video to be playful and campy, visually bringing the audience into an alternate universe – referencing both The Birth Of Venus and “But I’m A Cheerleader.” Julie Pacino seamlessly weaves the song and the video into a psychedelic lesbian nun dreamscape.”

Talking on the topic of the track, TOMI says, “I grew up catholic going to church every Sunday and catholic school during the week. When I came out as a lesbian I carried a lot of shame and guilt with me. I was living in New York City and was feeling the chaos of dating and heartbreak and partying. I was starting to fall in love with a woman and my emotions were bonkers. I wrote NUN to cope with those feelings – daydreaming about giving it all up (love, music, chaos) and becoming a NUN.”
