Los Angeles based SPELLES has just shared their latest dark soul pop banger. Called "Holy Hells", the song is the first release in almost two years from the songwriting duo composed of Kathryn Baar and Luc Laurent.
With "Holy Hells", SPELLES tap into their love of spirituality and stoic philosophy for a contemplation on how to live a virtuous life and overcome negativity. Lyrics including "In the kingdom of my ruin I made peace / From a dead land grew an Eden for all to see," show just how important positive metamorphosis can be and how we must accept and learn from our mistakes to find the light in life. Musically, "Holy Hells" enthralls with Baar's soul-drenched moody vocals singing cathartic melodies over pulsating drums and cinematic keys. Dark pop sonics underlay climatic choral chants for a must listen.
SPELLES began releasing music in 2014 after an unreleased song of theirs was added to the hit show Pretty Little Liars. In 2015 the duo released their debut self-titled EP to much critical acclaim. Since then the twesome have performed alongside well known names including LP, Dorothy, Cannons, Skott, and shared another EP and a series of singles to their growing fanbase. Take a listen to "Holy Hells" now and share it to all your friends.
