Salt Lake City-hailing LaLion delivers introspective EP GET UP!, taking us through five tracks of inner dialogue that the rising hip-hop talent has with himself, from acknowledging low moments to encouraging himself to keep going in an all-encompassing emotive sonic experience.

Written, mix, mastered, and produced by LaLion, opening with the fierce spirit of “How Low We Go,” that details tragic events and flaws before transitioning into an empowering hook about never giving up, getting ourselves back up and moving forward.

Inspired by LaLion’s concern for a friend, “What’s New,” comes to life as observational number that brings us comfort before “Bad Mood,” swerves back into LaLion’s own issues with poignant, vulnerable lyricism “I feel like life’s a burden, feel I’m working for appeal,” capturing relatable frustrations of not being where you want or expect to be in life.

LaLion manages to strike a balance between intimate reflections like in “Bad Mood,”  with narrative-led productions like “A Lie,” which weaves a tale of two lovers who are bank robbers in an alluring show of his lyrical versatility, before finishing off on yet another exploration of his personal thoughts and being tied down by your own demons on “Ur Woes.”

Grant Lalaianwho discovered his love for music aged six has honed his passion and talent has consistently expanding his reach by releasing new music every Thursday for the past three years – now blossoming fully under the moniker of Lalion.
