Soulja Boy emerges with “LA County", a contemplative single about his experience serving time in jail featuring HoodTrophy Bino. The two musicians met each other while incarcerated together and connected over their mutual passion for music and desire to achieve greatness in the outside world.
“LA County” uses diluted beats and a sleek backing track to create supple ambiance against Soulja Boy and Hoodtrophy Bino's powerful vocals. Written about the stark differences they’ve noticed since emerging from jail into the limelight, the two musicians reflect on old struggles in contrast with new successes. Soulja Boy remarks, “First day came out of jail / I touched a hundred thousand / Rakin’ up cash with the crew, got the money problems.” Soulja Boy’s performance is dark, meditative, and stoic as he takes a deep dive through past experiences. “LA County” is an intimate story of Soulja Boy’s reemergence from the system and the bond he shared with Hoodtrophy Bino on the inside.
"LA County" was released via Soulja Boy's Stacks On Deck Money Gang (S.O.D.M.G.) record label. HoodTrophy Bino signed with S.O.D.M.G. shortly after his release from jail.
