Fedd The God taps Wiz Khalifa and Chevy Woods for new project, ‘3PEAT’

Taylor Gang rapper Fedd The God serves raw and raunchy bars on his latest EP, 3PEAT. Featuring Wiz Khalifa and Chevy Woods, the four-track project is a nod to the city of Pittsburgh. “We’re all champions to everybody where we’re from so why not call it 3PEAT,” says the rapper with a confident nod, “Especially because we from the city of champions.”

The project opens with the nostalgic chirp of a cell phone ringing. “Ludic” has booming bass and a simple hip-hop melody. Fedd raps, “Got no wife, but your wife be my girlfriend.” He throws one boastful jab right after the other before Wiz hops on the track with his signature enunciated flow. The repetition of the hook is simple yet catchy, gliding over the beat.

“Killer Bs” is Fedd’s favorite track off the project. The beat is strong and steady with ominous and dramatic bass. The rapper’s voice is powerful and boisterous slightly contradictory to Wiz’s higher pitch. Chevy hops on the back half of the song offering up braggadocious verses with an effortless charm. Every verse is calculated and follows Fedd’s initial rhyme scheme. He describes the track, “It explains the perfect day. And it’s such a vibe. It’s me introducing a real north-side Pittsburgh sound.”

The next song, “Nostalgia” slows the vibes down briefly with a melodic R&B sound. The three rappers each chime in with mellow ad-libs. The beat picks up and Fedd instantly spits bars through the harmony. His verses are grimy and witty, describing various sexual encounters. He raps, “Rule number one never beef about no b**** just bring the cheese in.” Wiz instantly jumps in and picks up where he left off, “Rule number two check her phone before she leavin’.” The two play off each other with ease.

“3D” has a trap beat equipped with kicks and bass. Feverish ad-libs pop out in between Fedd’s verses. He takes a breathy slower approach to this song, allowing the beat to speak for itself. Chevy steps in before Wiz, switching up the cadence from the previous songs. Once Wiz is finished, Fedd hops back on the beat to close out the project as the track slowly fades.

Following a breakout year with Taylor Gang, Fedd praises the mentorship he has received from Wiz and Chevy. He says, “I get pieces of knowledge from them every day. The best piece from an artist aspect was never let nobody put you in a box. Always challenge yourself.” With the support of his mainstream counterparts and an unstoppable drive, Fedd The God is on the fast track to becoming another household name from the Taylor Gang roster.

I am a digital marketer and publicist with a passion for A&R and music management. Originally from Southern California, I spent many years as a transplant in the Midwest in the St. Louis and Chicago areas. Now I am back in sunny Los Angeles. Besides my professional life, I enjoy music of all genres with a sweet spot for hip-hop/rap. I love my west coast rap and all things Tupac, Kendrick, Nipsey, etc. I am always down to go to a show, whether the venue be the smallest hole in the wall or the largest arena.
