Daniel Orpi has released his long-awaited and highly anticipated EP Dance Partner, via London imprint Another Rhythm. Filled with shuffle-ready tech-house rhythms, rolling bass sounds and irresistible grooves, the new EP is a groove-rich collection of house music. Starting his career as a DJ in 2016 at the iconic London venues of Fabric and Village Underground, Orpi has been on a steep trajectory with his expressive sound.
Kicking the EP off with the intro track “Dance Partner”, a 135 bpm club ready track with eager build-ups and explosive drops where bass lines are there to throw your thoughts away. The rich flow of tech-house and shuffles within this track can be heard throughout the EP, though “Dance Partner” holds a powerful presence with acid droops and vocal chops. Speaking on “Dance Partner", Orpi writes "Even though the track speaks about lovers, my inspiration was about finding self love and having awareness of true love for ourselves. The sounds are made in tone with the frequency of love, which helps to raise your vibration."
Each track is released alongside an extended mix, making the EP a playground for tech-house DJs. on “Amor”, breakdowns introduce a perfectly mixed spoken-word flow of Spanish vocals that work alongside a shuffle beat with the luscious summer sounds of the rhodes piano – making it a track that deserves to be your holiday summer anthem. This summer vibe doesn’t end there, with “Portobello Road " making an appearance of raw flowing tech-house movements.
