Stevie Bill's vocals are the star of the show on new track "Messy". The Dutch-English artist has just announced her debut EP of the same name, due for release this November. Having rapidly gained the support of notable tastemakers, the EP is highly anticipated, pulling inspiration from chart-worthy pop and 00s superstars such as Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears.
The track is a spacious, glittering pop offering, with melody taking form through Stevie's impressive vocal deliveries, above bouncing synth and a beat that nods to pop and trap sounds. Stevie's harmonies are every bit impressive, with alernative-inspired pre-chorus guitar riffs texturising the track further.
"Messy is a song I wrote during a time where I would eat my takeout from last night for breakfast the next day, forget to water my plants, sleep all day and party all night. It took me a while to realise that the unplanned parts of life are the best parts, and that I actually ‘like it messy like that’," Stevie explains.
"Messy" is a refreshing addition to the pop scene, fusing some of the most addictive sounds together and presenting them through a Stevie Bill lens.
