NxG finds the 'Equilibrium' on new project

Philadelphia rapper NxG has shared a fresh new project called Equilibrium. Across 9 tracks, he further defines his stylish, infectious style that engagingly incorporates forward-thinking sounds. After singles such as "Mismatch" and "Next Up", featuring iayze, stoked the fire, building anticipation with their bouncy, colorful sonics and energizing vocal performances, Equilibrium delivers on the momentum built from those releases effectively, finding a balance- or equilibrium- both sonically and content-wise.

Equilibrium keeps things exciting with a brisk pace, as the project flows seamlessly together with kinetic energy. His beat selection remains strong throughout, with tracks like "Mismatch" and "Kobe", with XVXPARIS, containing throbbing, infectious bass and ear-worm melodies laced atop vibrant synths. "Next Up" with iayze presents one of the record's most catchy offerings, as pillowy 808s, driving percussion, and watery keys create a lively foundation for the two rappers to trade sleek, addictive verses overtop. "Not the Same" brings in an airier, more atmospheric sound, while still moored by heavy 808s and percussion, while "524 (Stacking Game Song)" closes the project out with a slightly different style for NxG, as he lays down emotive vocals atop grand, expansive pianos.

Regarding the new project, NxG says, “'Equilibrium' is about finding balance. I wanted to document how things were going for me after 'Outta Here Soon'- the positives and the negatives. And on top of that, I wanted to demonstrate how I’ve grown as an artist. I think 'Equilibrium' does a great job of all of those things.”

Equilibrium makes for a memorable, refreshing listen overall that continues to find NxG carving out an idiosyncratic lane for himself. Energizing and vibrant, the project's progressive sound and tantalizing melodies give it character, as well as heavy replay value.
