Born to Nigerian parents and raised in Tottenham in North London, Benny Bizzie began his musical journey as a songwriter and grime artist before finding his passion in singing R&B songs, often using music as a therapeutic outlet. His unique combination of a grime foundation and singing dexterity led to collaborations with grime legends such as Skepta, JME and Meridian Dan, and some of the UK’s finest producers including P2J  and ZDOT.

After taking a five-year hiatus from music for health reasons, Benny Bizzie returned in 2019 with the glorious comeback EP E-Motion, which garnered over a million plays online, and while the pandemic briefly halted his triumphant re-introduction to the UK music scene, he bounced back in 2021 releasing five singles to rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Benny began 2022 by going viral on TikTok with the excellent single "Drunk N Naked" right before announcing his new project Chrysalis, and two more singles later, the North London native is excited to unveil the 7-track body of work. Speaking about the inspiration behind Chrysalis, Benny Bizzie says, “The EP is about love, growth, and empowerment.

The project was written and composed by the UMA-nominated musician and sees him reuniting with long-time collaborator and acclaimed UK producer Cee Figz along with additional production from Simon Brown, and live instrumentation from musician Darren Franklin (Lola Young, Jermaine Jackman) and alternative rock band Less Than Hollow.

The EP opens up with the vulnerable "Drunk N Naked" followed by the R&B-rap fusion track "Window Frame", which showcases his stylish melodic runs and sensual songwriting. In songs like "On The Double", and "Forever", he dives into the dynamics of love and relationships. The latter is a chilled ballad that is ripe with emotionally punchy lyrics and soothing melodies that dwell on finding new found while the former is an afrobeats/r&b infused track that sees him pouring adulations on his significant other. The project switches up with the summer-ready "Signals", before closing out with the defiant "Player" and the empowering "Power In The Pain", which sees Benny calling for listeners to choose themselves.
