Los Angeles based musical duo Guyville returns with a catchy and clever new single "Boys + Girls W/ Guitars," The track marks the second release for the year following their Anti-Valentines jam "Should Have Never Dated".
Sometimes we confuse lust and love with admiration, and we are sucked into those who are talented in what they do. This is the subject of Guyville's new indie rock single "Boys + Girls W/ Guitars". With lyrics including, "You can blame it on the stage lights / Late nights / Co-writes / But the minute I heard him playing like Clapton / Singing like Buckley / Man he really fucked me / Boys with guitars all they do is break my heart," Guyville lament on their past bad decisions of repetitively falling for someone based on talent alone.
"Boys + Girls W/ Guitars," shines with confessional lyricism. The stripped back folk-infused verse soon culminates into an explosive well crafted chorus full of grungy guitar riffs and dynamic basslines. Each member of Guyville takes her turn as the lead singer, adding a multidimensional storytelling element to the track.
Guyville are known for their Americana-dipped indie rock. Formed in 2021 by singer/songwriters Kat Hamilton and Emily Hulslander, the two shared a common love for Liz Phair and other 90's grunge rock artists.
