Los Angeles-based songwriter and recording artist David Poe unveiled a visual for his track, "Post," a light-hearted, 1960s-tinged breakup song for the modern era emo inflections. The post-breakup song is the second unveiling of his highly anticipated upcoming album called Everyone’s Got A Camera set for release later this year.
In an interview, David Poe goes a bit deeper on his track by sharing, "In posts on social media, a friend saw her ex falling in love with someone new. Couldn’t look away. She was still reeling from the breakup; he had moved on. My friend was benevolent enough to wish her ex well but regretted bearing witness to his new love interest."
The post-breakup track crafted as a fairly cheerful-sounding song, with lyrics “I’m happy for you because you found another love, but I wish I didn’t know who it was," displaying the catharsis that can be felt from breaking the cycle of grief following a breakup.
David Poe’s “Post” is a song you hear that doesn’t give you a chance to decide if you like it or not, with an undeniable presence to the music that grabs you instantly, and shakes up your world in the best way possible. If you’re a fan of good music, this song will give you infinite reasons to fall in love with its sound that rides its own wave.
