Hailing from NYC, singer-songwriter Shane T shares the new single "Quick Like A Heart Attack". Taken from his new EP Night Drive, the single warps electric guitar lines with steady bass rhythms, luring listeners into the depths of his rich sounds.
A call to arms to avoid the mundanity of everyday life and seek out excitement, "Quick Like A Heart Attack" fuses yearning with spontaneity. "You can leave your problems, we'll get them in the morning" he croons over the driving grooves, navigating us through the darkness into the world full of opportunity. "I don't want to have the boring settled down and start a family living in the same suburb of the same town I grew up in for the rest of my life, I just couldn't imagine being in one place that long," he explains. "I don't want life to pass me by. I want to live in the moment and to me, this song is just that gut feeling. I feel like screaming it every time I play it live."
Throughout the single, Shane T's vocals offer a raw quality to them that leaves you hanging on every word and soaking up every little detail to internalise his need to explore. The track's building instrumentation of crashing drums and reverbed guitars blend into a frenzied mass until gently fading away. "Quick Like A Heart Attack" follows Shane T's need to switch things up, something we all feel but never necessarily get to achieve. This is a single that will push you to get back out there.
Speaking about the EP, Shane T says: "My mission to keep things simple hasn’t changed, I think my ideas have just gotten bigger. This upcoming EP is in some ways an ode to the three years I spent in the more rock-emphasized scene of Nashville. On the surface the songs are much more quick-hitting, but still offer a lyrical depth I’m proud of."
Heading out on tour with Ritt Momney across North America, Shane T's new EP Night Drive is about to connect with a hella lot of people.
