Modernlove.'s new single "come over x" is a classic love story for the modern world [Video]

Through the medium of purple hues and blurred edges, Irish four-piece modernlove. retell the classic budding romance story in the music video for their new single “come over x.”

Beginning with breathy vocals and rhythmic down strumming, “come over x” quickly overflows with synth-heavy production — enveloping us in a beautiful bursting sound at the chorus and throughout the remainder of the song. The single “tells of the naivety and sincerity of young love in the modern world,” modernlove. comment on the track.

The accompanying music video follows a young person climbing into the window of their love interest to fulfill a clandestine meeting as the song closes with the repeated lyrics: so why do I have to hide you?

The single is a taste of their upcoming debut EP “monochrome blue”, set for release September 1st on Akira Records.

Tour Dates:
Nov 5: Dublin, Ireland – Workman's Club
Nov 12: London, England – The Social

Based in Toronto but my mind is always somewhere else. I like coffee, a good banjo solo, and binge-watching British TV shows.
