In this world of entropy, any semblance of a plan is music to my ears. God's Plan, the new EP from rapper Bigg Z, provides just that. Z, a Stockton-bred emcee now running the undulating streets of San Francisco, has clearly taken his game to a new level, an impressive feat considering his previous project, The Wait Is Over, was quite the blap factory.
God's Plan is a head-nodder from the jump. On the EP's opening number, "False Idols," Z spits grown-man bars over a soulful, thumping ditty produced by Donato. "False Idols" also drives home the overarching message of the project: stay focused, tune out the noise, and follow the path that's been chosen for you. It's an important and necessary reminder woven throughout God's Plan, whether Z is speeding up his flow ("He Say, She Say") or slowing it down with a silky hook ("Look & Find").
After blessing EARMILK with his last single, "Back On My Shit," it's great to see Bigg Z back in the booth doing his damn thing. Stream God's Plan via the link below and start following your blueprint.
