Multi-talented artist Teebs is gearing up for the release of his first large-scale project in five years and has brought an impressive cast of guests along for the ride. “Black Dove,” the second single from Anicca, features the awe-inspiring vocalist and violinist Sudan Archives. Other artists joining the project that is due out October 25 on Brainfeeder include Panda Bear of Animal Collective on the first single “Studie,” MNDSGN, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Anna Wise, daydream Masi, Former Boy, Jimetta Rose, Pink Siifu, and Thomas Stankiewicz. Even with the abundance of diverse energies involved, “Black Doves” showcases Teebs’ ability to integrate dynamic talents like Sudan Archives seamlessly into his own sonic realm.

Teebs, A.K.A. Mtendere Mendowa, is a producer as well as a painter and his taste for multiple artistic mediums shines through on the impressionistic “Black Dove,” which invokes emotions just as much as it will get audience’s heads nodding along. Sudan Archives’ soulful voice provides a fitting focal point for the moody track as she sings about confronting one’s imperfections in the context of a relationship. The track is a striking depiction of Teebs’ deep musicality and shows more evidence that Anicca should be a triumphant return for him into the music scene.

Anicca is due out October 25 and is available to pre-order here.
