In between the liminal space of lo-fi ambience and downtempo poignancy, there's a new stretch of a wayward soundscape, headed by the soothing, jazz-tinged sounds of Asta Hiroki. The Leftfield electronic producer and visual artist navigates the blurred vistas with his newest offering "Hiding Place", articulated through the honeyed vocals of London-based electronica vocalist Lylli.
Weaving gorgeous late-night jazz harmonies over a sparse yet wholly fulfilling arrangement, "Hiding Place" peeks out from the unassuming chords with quiet confidence, emphasized further with Lylli's timeless croons. Infusing the track with a careful and calculated vitality through the medley of instrumentals, Hiroki stamps his mark in the landscape with soul-quenching ambient electronica. With delicate and nuanced vocals and lyricism as well as a evident mastery over the downtempo genre, "Hiding Place" makes for a truly beautiful listen.
"Hiding Place" will be released in a digital album via Bandcamp for purchase. In addition to the original, remixes courtesy of fellow producers Tristan de Liège and Moth Equals will also be included in the album release, with the original instrumental as a final bonus.
